Complete Consignment Policy

We will offer the option for clients to consign their luxury goods with ÉPROUVÉE.

Consignment Rates

The consigner will receive 50%-85% of the final sale price.

Markdowns

ÉPROUVÉE has the right to alter the price as we see fit to result in a sale. Once an item has been listed for 60 days, it will be marked down 15%. Each additional month the item does not sell it will be marked down another 10% until the item sells. The consigner will receive their percentage based on the final sale price, not the estimated sale price given at the time of form submission. The consignment rate will change based on final sale price of item.

Estimated Sale Price

The estimated sale price given after form submission is based on extensive research on the current resale value of that specific item. This may be significantly less (or more!) than what the consigner originally paid. It is important to remember that retail value does not equal resale value, even if an item is new with tags or unworn.

The policy will be as follows

Someone interested in consigning will be directed to the consignment page on the Eprouve website. They will fill out a short questionnaire providing basic information about the item(s) they wish to consign.

The following questions will be asked:

  • Please provide a brief, descriptive list of the item(s) you wish to consign
  • Are the submitted items authentic?
    • Do you have and receipt, proof, or certificate of authenticity for the item(s)
  • Please select the condition you feel this item best applies
    • New with tags, never worn
    • New without tags, never worn/tried on
    • Excellent condition, shows minor signs of wear but no flaws
    • Good condition, shows minor signs of wear or minor flaws
    • Fair condition, shows signs of wear and has flaws
  • Do you know approximately when this item was purchased or it’s date of origin?
  • This item comes with (select all that may apply)
    • Box
    • Dust bag
    • Authenticity card
    • Coat hanger
    • Garment bag
  • Are you the original owner?
    • If not, where did you purchase this item?

Along with the questionnaire, photographs of the item(s) will be requested. The photos are optional however if they are not submitted the client will pay to ship the items to Eprouve and if the items are rejected the client will pay to ship them back. If in the Las Vegas area pickup may be arranged.

Once all necessary information is compiled, the client will submit the information. Eprouve will then review the application. If no photos are supplied, the client will purchase a shipping label based on weight and ship the items. If photos are supplied, Eprouve will review the photos and information and will approve or reject each item that comes through. We will also inform the consigner of the percentage they will receive once the item is sold.

Items will be rejected for the following reason(s)

  • Condition is too poor
  • There are flaws or damages that are too great or require professional repair
  • The item is too out of style and will be difficult to sell
  • The size is a size we have in excess and do not have room for

Once an item is rejected, we will send the item back (if already arrived) or respectfully let the customer know the item has been rejected and ask them if they would like to list it in project rescue.

If the item(s) is approved for consignment, the customer will be sent a shipping label to send their item(s). Item(s) are expected to be packaged carefully to ensure no damage in shipment. Items must be shipped with all extras noted in the questionnaire.

Once Eprouve receives the item(s), we will film the items being unboxed for protection of the client and Eprouve. Once the condition is verified, the item will be cleaned (if applicable) and photographed. Once photographed the item will be stored in a safe, temperature controlled location until sale.

Once the item is sold, we will ship it out to it’s new home. The consigner will be paid the agreed upon percentage. Items that are returned will not impact the consignment agreement.
