Condition judgement guidelines
Since the vast majority of the items we sell are preowned, we must make a judgement on the condition of each individual item in order to accurately advertise exactly what is being sold. We use a scale ranging from fair to giftable based on our judgement and these guidelines. We know there can be some grey area, since we all might have different views of what a single condition means, so we have created these guidelines to help establish a clear guide on how we establish condition.
FAIR
Items deemed fair typically meet the following conditions:
- Show major signs of wear often resulting in significant defects
- Show major defects such as significant staining, tearing, discoloration, scrapes, etc.
- May require repairs
GOOD
Items deemed to be in good condition typically meet the following conditions:
- Show signs of wear indicative of regular previous use
- May show flaws (snags, scuffs, scratches, etc.)
VERY GOOD
Items deemed to be in very good condition typically meet the following conditions:
- Show light signs of wear indicative of regular or occasional previous use
- May show small flaws or defects
EXCELLENT
Items deemed to be in excellent condition typically meet the following conditions:
- Show very few signs of wear, possibly used only a few times in the past
- Show no flaws or defects outside of light wear (think light corner wear or minor sole scuffing)
NEW
Items deemed to be in new condition typically meet the following conditions:
- May or may not include the original or partial tags
- No signs of wear indicative of previous ownership
- Possible signs of environmental or in-store try on wear
- Possibly missing extras (dust bags, box, authenticity card, etc.)
GIFTABLE
Items deemed to be in giftable condition typically meet the following conditions:
- No signs of wear
- No defects
- Include original tags and extras (dust bags, authenticity card, etc.)
FLAWED
Items may include the flawed tag in addition to a previous condition should a single major flaw not a result of wear be present. Such flaws may be a result of manufacturer error. An example of such flaws are:
- Missing pivotal component (i.e. a zipper, button, beading, etc.)
- Have a major tear or rip on the exterior or interior
- Broken components (i.e. a broken strap, broken zipper, etc.)
- Major area of staining or discoloration
